The Herd Hunting Experience
A hunt with us isn’t a production line. We keep groups small, pair you with a guide who knows every ridge and creek bottom on this property, and build the hunt around what you came here to do.
Whether you’re chasing a trophy axis buck or aiming to harvest your first deer, we’ll tailor the hunt to your needs.
A Typical Visit to the Ranch
Arrive & Settle In
Most guests arrive Friday around noon. You’ll unload at the lodge, get settled, and we’ll take you on a tour of the ranch so you can see the terrain, the blinds, and where the animals have been moving. Expect a lot of questions to get answered before you ever pick up a rifle.
Hunt
Mornings start early. Head out with your guide to one of several blinds across the property (river bottoms, hillsides, open flats), depending on what you’re hunting and where cameras are showing activity. Come back mid-morning for breakfast, and head out again in the afternoon.
Wrap Up
Standard hunts run through Monday morning. Your harvested game will be field-dressed, quartered, and waiting in our walk-in cooler. We’ll have it ready for you to take home, or we can connect you with a local processor. Either way, it’s easy to enjoy what you’ve harvested.
Evenings
After the hunt, it’s the fire pit, the game room, and a hot dinner. There’s nothing like sharing stories with friends and decompressing after a productive day. Evenings on the property become some of the most meaningful and enjoyable moments for our guests.
Meet Dennis ‘Dee’ Herd
Dennis "Dee" Herd has spent a lifetime doing what he loves.
With over 40 years of experience guiding hunters of every skill level, Dee manages the wildlife and day-to-day operations at the ranch with the same care and attention he brings to every hunt.
Whether it's your first time out or your fiftieth, he'll do everything in his power to make sure your party has a safe, successful, and memorable experience.

Where You’ll Stay
The lodge is comfortable, clean, and no-frills. It sleeps up to eight guests and sits right on the property with views of the hills and creek. There’s a separate game room with a TV and space to spread out.
We’re not a five-star resort and we don’t pretend to be. What we are is well-kept and well-stocked. It’s a place you’ll actually want to come back to.
